The internet nowdays is flooded with social networking sites..No No I don't have anything against them.I have been equally party to the crime of killing time on them...like anybody else :P
But thats not the point of this blog..Let me get on track..
So these sites expect you to create your profile filling out varous details likes ,dislikes, passions etc etc..Going through profiles of various people has given a kind of complex to me..
People have such varied interests - singing, dancing, sketching ,painting etc etc and these are are not merely interests..they are passionate abt them..
I have been wondering off-late what my passion is.. Googling for the exact meaning of passion pops up the following
n.
- A powerful emotion, such as love, joy, hatred, or anger.
- Ardent love.
- Strong sexual desire; lust.
- The object of such love or desire.
- Boundless enthusiasm: His skills as a player don't quite match his passion for the game.
- The object of such enthusiasm: Soccer is her passion.
- An abandoned display of emotion, especially of anger: He's been known to fly into a passion without warning.
- Passion
- The sufferings of Jesus in the period following the Last Supper and including the Crucifixion, as related in the New Testament.

- Archaic. Martyrdom.
- Archaic. Passivity.
I guess in this particular situaton 3a and 3b are what we are concerned about ..
So what I am enthusiatic about..hmmmm..
hmm......
Painting ...I can't paint...wait a sec.. ofcourse I can.
but the end result might not in sync with the spec.
Unit Test failed....[ he he he.. I can't help it.. I am a Software Engg]
Dance..well I can shake a leg ..but just for some fun....so thats is ruled out too..
Singing...not really :P
Any other artistic intereset...no :(:(
So let me think of things that I like doing..
I love to talk.. bas koi mil jaaye gappe maarne ke liye
I love to smile and laugh..even at a drop of a hat.....people have accused me that I suffer from "Hasne Ki Bimari"
I love to make others laugh..by my lethal PJs..
I like cooking...a new found interest.. and love it when people compliment about it :)
I like checking out new places.. :)
I like shopping :P ..I guess every girl does...
I like/want to be perfect in any work I take up.. Be it at workplace or anywhere else.
I am a bad looser.. Ofcourse I dont cry about coming second..But I have to learn to take failure in good spirit..
That is all the things I can think of right now..
I don't know whether any of the above things does qualify as "Passion" or not..
The search is still on.....I guess...
Have you ever wondered that god has given us two beautiful eye but still we can't see our own face? We rely upon mirror for it and we trust it.

passion?? hmm, I passionately control myself to have no passion.
ReplyDeleteBut i face more difficulty when people ask for hobbies. By definition, it's something you love to do in free time. And my answer turns out to be sleeping :) :)
I can identify with this experience while ceating a profile on these sites..I tend to totally blank out when it comes to writing out my passions.
